( so this is the real first time jinx notices and senses her sister's emotion since their blood pact. and truly, it's a very strange sensation to suddenly have something wash over that isn't her own. vi is proud, okay, that one is easy. but there's something hidden as well. should she address it? and how does she show reassurance when she can't physically do so (while out working on her shop)?

well there's no better time to try and test this ability than now. the girl begins to imagine herself giving her older sister a hug or maybe a nice warm blanket draping over her shoulders. the feel of something cozy, soft, and relaxation by an open fire with a cup of hot chocolate she tried once. that pleasurable moment jinx attempts to redirect to vi; it's warm and comforting.

whether she is doing this right is up in the air and won't know until vi gives a reaction. but trial and error.)

[her own mixed feelings are still there, but they part to make room for one more: reassurance. it's coming from her sister - no way to know other than she knows, and it's the first time for vi, too.

it's a mental warmth, the mental equivalent of a hug - an easy pressure that holds her up rather than weighs her down. what jinx might be able to feel back is surprise, and a little bit of wonder edged with joy. it dulls down the other feelings just a little, makes them easier to bear.]

(ah, so it worked! how weird this is -- especially feeling the surprise on her end. jinx will send more of a "mental hug" only this time, she toys with trying to make it some sort of a bear hug. hopefully though, it's not too smothering with how large she is trying to make it be. )

[more pressure. but in the ...no, that's not exactly physical. that's a different kind of hug and it's kind of from the inside. is it too much? maybe for some people, but vi's a hard hugger, and she appreciates all kinds of hugs but the big hugs are the best by far. she's still being held by that hug when she plays the song.

it's ...yeah. it's familiar. it conjures up a fond sadness, a heart heavy longing that she's all right with in this moment. aware that it might be shared, she tries to focus on the fondness, the nostalgia, the feeling of being relatively carefree]

( it's hard to keep the happy reassurance when she reads the "i missed out on so much" from her. while this hold is still there, vi's nostalgic sadness lines up with her baby sister's own. she sighs quietly while trying to do something else -- more loving sensations. so jinx recalls back some months ago when vi put her to bed while she was entirely trashed and how she was in her arms. except this time, it'll be a reverse. vi always seemed to be the one holding her but she rarely returns the motion.

again she centers her emotion to something similar as holding a stuff animal; holding it so tenderly close to her heart in bed while the rain gently taps against the window sill. )

yeah well.

[that kicks out most traces of sadness - at least the ones that can be felt. so she's the little spoon now? that's different. it's comforting. it's not something she's used to feeling, but that's cool. it's fine. it's good, even. she's good. this is all good, no matter what.

vi huffs a little smile into the air as she watches the same rain.]
