[she can respect the straightforwardness of the username. that's where her respect ends, though. there is no little emote that captures any of her feelings on seeing this (which is better than hearing it if she's honest) and she's taken a long while to respond. had she briefly entertained several rows of the middle fingers? yes. was it possible for someone tech (or magic?) savvy to jam up his entire inbox with middle finger emotes? possibly. she doesn't seriously consider it, but it manages to make her smile a little. it's a bitter flicker of a smile, and it is hard won. a scream had come before it, not too long after: a flurry of fists against beastflesh (more screams lost to the noise of that fight), and finally tears - but, again ...if she's honest: those had been there throughout.]

[Silco is a little taken aback by this response, even after her behaviour on the beach. How like her father, to do the right thing, to preserve the peace even with someone who was an active threat. It's more level-headed than her sister would have managed. He's impressed.

Perhaps there's a truce to be had here, he thinks. After all, as much as Violet hates him, and he has no doubt she does, she has mostly been a thorn in his side with regards to his daughter rather than any sort of threat to his real plans. Even accompanying Tallis to that little show of force, leading to Sevika having to punish two of the chem barons, never landed her high on his list of priorities. It was all about Jinx, and Jinx isn't here.

But if she was... well, he'd rather they not end up facing each other at opposite ends of a tea party.]

[it's vi's turn to be taken aback, and this comes as a second blow - the first had seen her off to drink herself senseless - a mistake, she finds - but she'd been (mostly) proud of her restraint. surely several rounds of drinks would dull the edges of the shame, disappointment and disgust that circled the edges of that pride - and it had.

she'd drank until she could not remember why she had started in the first place, until she had all but forgotten her name ...only to remember everything again, with a splitting headache, a raw stomach, and ...this message.

it sends her heaving again, nothing left to come up - but she's ended up with a mouthful of bitterness nonetheless.

the hangover passes, but the bitterness lingers. needles at her and steals the little sleep she tries to get. because in truth, she wants to know.

it's a branch extended but dripping with poison, it seems. (how could he not know? how it sounded. what he'd said. the words he chose, and probably so carefully, too. the wounds they would cause. what he'd done.)
